Why we started Axis
Commercial real estate runs on people who are very good at their jobs and very badly served by their tools. A property manager might oversee a dozen buildings from an inbox, a shared drive, and a maintenance system that hasn't changed since 2009. The work is constant — a tenant texts about hot water, a vendor's insurance lapses, an inspection is due — and almost none of it is captured anywhere useful.
We started Axis because that gap was getting wider, not smaller. Buildings are more complex, tenants expect more, and the software hadn't kept up. We also believed something new was finally possible: an AI that could read every message, understand the portfolio, and quietly handle the coordination that eats a property team's day.
So we built Axis as one system — work orders, COIs, vendors, scheduling, tenant comms — with Cipher, our AI operator, running through all of it. Not a chatbot bolted on the side. An operator grounded in your real records, doing real work.
